Overview |

| Using the
latest in optical fiber switching technology, the Optical Amplifier Protection Switch provides 1:2
protection for 1 or 2 optical amplifiers (eastbound and westbound) at any
location in the fiber span. Protection switching of fibers to the hot
standby amplifier is accomplished in less than 50 ms.
The Optical Amplifier Protection Switch is 1-RMU
(1.75") in height, is able to mount in either
a 19" or 23" telecommunication rack and
requires 48 vdc power (A & B Feed).
